The Rooster Story
(Mr. Stingyman)
Enjoy this folk tale of a very special rooster and his encounter with Mr. Stingyman. There are multiple spots in the story where students are delighted to join in. They love to help the rooster sing,
“Hey, Mr. Stingyman listen to me holler,
Cock-a-doodle-doodle-doo, give me back my dollar!”
Children also join in with gusto as the rooster and Mr. Stingyman argue back and forth, “yes” and “no” and “enough!”
The twists and turns of the plot keep kids engaged as the rooster is able to use his special talents to get out of a well, a fiery furnace and a beehive and end up as the hero in this story.
